Look Derrick Lewis is our ride or die heavyweight contender but I don’t know about this. From the Black Beast’s own mouth at the end of UFC 229 win, “don’t talk about titles, I need more cardio.”
How about 30 days worth of cardio? A new report from ESPN confirms the rumors, Derrick Lewis vs. Daniel Cormier will headline UFC 230 at MSG on November 3rd. Yes, you read that correctly.
This is not a drill.
That is not a typo.
Lewis got his head beat in for nearly three full rounds at UFC 229 but the company now wants him to headline a card less than four weeks later?
BREAKING: Per Dana White, "the fight is done" between Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 on Nov. 3 in New York.

Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis for the UFC heavyweight title is a done deal for Nov. 3 on 11/3, per both sides. UFC 230 finally has its main event. First reported by @bokamotoESPN.

The only way this story could be better if, Lewis was doing something comical when this fight was booked.
Just spoke to Derrick Lewis. He had no idea he was in consideration to headline opposite Daniel Cormier at UFC 230. He said he'd do it if they paid him "right", but was at the doctor's office when we called.

Yup, that covers.
Was The Beast being checked for head injuries or over heated balls? This is a legitimate question, a joke and a possible truth. Good for New York City, have yourselves a wild ass heavyweight main event but at what cost?
There is only one of two possible outcomes here. Either DC embarrasses Lewis and finishes him fast. Or Lewis catches the two division champ square on the jaw and ends it all. This is the will of the Fight Gods.
If Lewis went out and got a first round KO at UFC 229, then we could totally be into this UFC 230 boogie down. Instead the UFC is asking us to remember the finish at UFC 229 but not the path we took to get there.
As long as Brock Lesnar rushes the cage and attacks the winner, we may be good with whatever the hell is going on here.
