Derrick Lewis Confesses He Used Steroids For Back Injury Treatment!

USADA Approved Steroid Therapy For Derrick Lewis!

Derrick Lewis is probably more known as a fighter who competed in one of the worst UFC fights of all time. His embarrassing showdown versus Francis Ngannou at UFC 226 looked like the fight of two frightened kids. Yet, he faces the former Bellator Heavyweight champion, Alexander Volkov, a very dangerous striker. The match is set for UFC 229 PPV (pay-per-view) event on October 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Derrick Lewis has earned six knockouts in last 9 fights. Some of his notable victims were Marcin Tybura, Gabriel Gonzaga, Travis Browne… But he has had a lot of problems with back injury lately. Derrick Lewis even had to withdraw from UFC 216 match versus Fabricio Werdum last fall.

His road to the throne was under a big question mark. Black Beast had no option but to try desperate measures out. (via MMAMania.com)

“Right now it’s going pretty good,” Lewis told The MMA Hour when asked about his back. “The shots that I took, they said it should last like 10 to 12 months. It wasn’t stem cells or nothing like that. It was something — they shot me like 20 times in one spot, it was some type of steroids.”

As well as you see, Black Beast publicly confessed he used steroids! USADA is fine with that! Lewis also stated there is no chance he would pull out from UFC 229.

“We’re taking it step-by-step, day-by-day. We’re taking it real slow, because ain’t no way I’m going to pull out of this fight again,” Lewis said. “I’ve pulled out in the past and I ain’t planning on doing it for this fight here.”

The main event of UFC 229 is the match for UFC Lightweight belt between two old rivals, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. What do you think, did Derrick Lewis even deserve this fight? Alexander Volkov is everything but a scary kid! Let’s hope Lewis will show some skills this time!
