Demetrious Johnson Says Talks Have Begun For Fight With TJ Dillashaw

Demetrious Johnson, a UFC flyweight champion said talks have started for a possible super fight with bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw to co-headline UFC 226.

As Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier has already scheduled for UFC 226 on July 7 live on PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the UFC may be looking to add another champion vs. champion matchup. Over the weekend, it was revealed that another super fight could be co-headlining the card.

Over the weekend, speaking on his Twitch stream, No.1 pound-for-pound star Demetrious Johnson announced that negotiations have officially begun.

“We’re in negotiations [to co-headline UFC 226],” Johnson said (via MMA Fighting). “Once my main man gets in here I’ll have him update all of the commands, that way when people come in here and ask about T.J. Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson fighting each other, you guys know negotiations have begun. They have begun.”

Demetrious Johnson believes it’s the super fight that everyone wants.

If this fight goes down, there is no question the historic event will be exceeded off with four of the very best MMA fighters on the planet. Two gold belts will be on the line, with two men attempting to become simultaneous two-weight champions.
