Dave Bautista’s MMA debut was a success, let’s watch and discuss

It seems like Bautista’s MMA debut has been in the making since Strikeforce was alive and well, UFC was on Spike and Bellator was toiling on ESPN Deportes…Oh wait it has. Before Ronda Rousey ever stepped foot on Stockton soil, Bautista was training Gracie Jiu Jitsu in the 209 and getting beat up by Stephan Bonnar all in preparation for this seminal moment in his combat sports life – the moment he stepped into the cage with Vince Lucero.

Bautista took a bunch of shots to start the fight, but eventually wore down the Vince Lucero (who until someone proves otherwise, is Scott Ferrozo’s cousin) and was able to bring the fight to the ground and to an end with some pound. Watch, enjoy (?) and let’s hope that the Bautista era will bring us a superfight against, say, Kimbo Slice?
