Darren Till was reportedly arrested in Sweden last month.
According to Swedish national newspaper Expressen, the UFC middleweight contender was pulled over on July 31 in Stockholm for speeding.
A woman was also present with Till with the latter claiming she was behind the wheel initially.
Till stated that he “drank one to two beers” while at a restaurant as police deemed him to be “noticeably intoxicated.”
“The Gorilla” would later submit to a breath test for alcohol which came back three times above the legal limit.
Till eventually retracted his statement and admitted to driving under the influence. He also accepted an undisclosed penalty order.
Darren Till Looking To Turn Fortunes Around
Till will be looking to put that episode behind him as he seeks to turn his fortunes around.
The Liverpool native has lost four of his last five outings and is most recently coming off a submission defeat to Derek Brunson in September last year.
Till was set to return against Jack Hermansson at UFC London last month only to pull out due to injury.
Despite all the setbacks, Till is still hoping to compete at least twice by the end of 2022 before enjoying a monumental 2023.
“I’d say in a few months time, I’ll be ready. I want to have two fights by the end of this year,” Till said. “Two fights, and then next year’s a big year. The comeback is on.”
