Daniel Straus is the NEW Bellator featherweight champion

Only in Bellator can you go from being arrested for felony drug possession (dude had over 20 grams of cannibus and ecstasy) to the Bellator featherweight champion.

Out of all the fights on Bellator 106, this one intrigued me the most and I’ve been telling you guys this for weeks now. On paper it would appear that Pat Curran would be entirely too tactical for Straus due to his methodical counter punching. However every time we see Straus enter the cage it’s as if the guy truly evolved — none of this creationist BS that FOX News want you to believe. The Daniel Straus from 2010 is not even near the fighter we just witnessed outstrike, takedown, and simply outclass Curran tonight at Bellator 106.

Despite taking a knee directly to the head while his knees were down (something that still needs to be reevaluated in the unified rule set), Straus bounced back after losing the second round and did everything he really needed to ensure that he left with the Bellator featherweight strap in an unanimous decision. Nice job, playa.
