Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic 2 Is Finalized For UFC 241 PPV Event On August 17

Earlier this evening UFC president Dana White confirmed that former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar is retired from MMA, so the highly anticipated bout between him and Daniel Cormier is off the table now.

So what’s next for current UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is to do a rematch with former UFC champion Stipe Miocic as promotion is finalizing their bout for UFC 241 on August 17 in Anaheim, California, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto just confirmed it.

BREAKING: DC vs. Miocic 2 on tap for UFC pay-per-view on Aug. 17 in Anaheim, California. Both fighters confirm they are in the process of finalizing the bout to @ESPN.

“I’m ready,” Miocic told ESPN. “I’ve been ready. And I’m going to take back what’s mine.”

Cormier and Miocic first met at UFC 226 PPV event back in 2018 where ‘DC’ knocked out Stipe via ground and pound game to become a double UFC champion. After getting a knockout loss, Miocic started lobbying for a rematch; however, Cormier advised Stipe to look someone else for a fight hence he’s defending a title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230.

Before that setback, Miocic was reigning UFC heavyweight champion with three straight title defenses, a record that no one holds in the promotion.

Cormier meanwhile is on the sidelines due to nagging injuries and was hoping to get a money match with Lesnar since this isn’t happening anymore, “DC” is ready to prove everyone that his win over Miocic is no fluke.

That will be Miocic’s first fight since a loss against Cormier, as he’s been adamant on getting a rematch with Daniel Cormier.

Any predictions who’ll win?
