Daniel Cormier Speaks About Possible Jon Jones Showdown

Jon Jones Is Suspension-Free Soon But Daniel Cormier Doesn’t Want To Look Back!

Jon Jones is one of the luckiest UFC fighters ever. Despite he is a repeated offender, he received an only 15-month suspension by USADA. He would be eligible to compete at UFC 230 since his penalty expires on October 28, 2018. This highly controversial decision irritated many fighters. Yet, there are also the ones who support Bones too.

Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones have already fought two times. Jones won via unanimous decision at UFC 182 on January 3, 2015. At UFC 214 on July 29, 2017, Jones originally won via head kick KO. Yet, the fight was overturned to no contest after he was tested positive on banned substances. Since all eyes are pointed at Daniel Cormier at the moment, he decided to speak about the whole situation in UFC Tonight Studio with Kenny Florian. (via MMAMania.com)

”I’m the UFC double champion,” Cormier said. “I have bosses in the back, and I’m talking about this guy because I have to. I’ve moved past that. I mean, I went about my business. I went and won another title. This guy, I guess … now his suspension is up. So we’ll see what happens.”

Daniel Cormier was also asked whether he would fight Jon Jones again. But DC claims he has already booked the fight versus Brock Lesnar. He doesn’t want to look back at the moment.

”I think people get excited,” he said when Florian straight up asked if a fight was possible. “People get excited about the prospect of us fighting again. But I’ve got a fight with Brock Lesnar. Why would I look back?”

”Why would I look back to Jones now when I’ve got a fight? Obviously, as a competitor, I want to fight the guy who beat me twice. But I’ve got a fight so why go back? This is a bigger fight. I’ve got a bigger fight with Brock Lesnar. Why should I go back?”

Yet, Daniel Cormier wasn’t right here. Brock Lesnar “sh*t show” happened after UFC 226. But it was a verbal agreement! Where is the signed document? Also, Brock Lesnar was drug tested three times by USADA ahead of UFC return. The results are unknown yet.

Daniel Cormier isn’t pleased with USADA decision about Jon Jones. Cormier also mentioned he was tested more than 70 times by USADA during his professional career. Compared to Jon Jones, he has never made a single mistake.

”Here’s the deal: when it comes to USADA, they can’t come to my house anymore at 6 AM,” Cormier said. “What’s the point? They’ve come to my house 15 times. When it comes to USADA they can’t come to my house anymore. You don’t need to. You don’t need to come, I’m not going to fail any tests. I’m not going to make any mistakes. I’m not going to have to sit up there and say ‘I’m serious this time, guys, I promise I really wasn’t trying to cheat.’”

”70 times,” he finished. “70 times since I started wrestling internationally, and I have never made a mistake. It’s not that hard. So even having to sit here and do this again shows that this guy’s ridiculous.”

When it comes to Brock Lesnar, you never know whether he will pass testing. Don’t forget he was suspended because of clomiphene. Also, Jon Jones stated he would like two more fights versus DC – a Light Heavyweight and a Heavyweight showdown. Bones is eligible to fight soon. What do you think, is there a chance for Jon Jones Vs Daniel Cormier 3?
