Daniel Cormier Selected Head Wrestling Coach At California High School

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier announced as a new head wrestling coach at Santa Clara County’s Gilroy High School in Northern California, that’s where ‘DC’ lives with his wife and two children.

He is currently serving as the head coach to AKA Youth Wrestling Club. In addition to this, his new role as an educator at Gilroy High School where he’ll be coaching for free, Cormier giving his stipend to go directly to his assistant coaches at the school.

UFC’s busiest analyst Daniel Cormier who has 20-1 professional record in MMA with wins over the likes of Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, and Frank Mir, will move up in weight class to take on heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler at UFC 226 on July 7, in Las Vegas.

Cormier told MMAFighting:

“This opportunity is huge for me; Wrestling has been the foundation for everything I’ve done. I’m excited to coach a great team in Gilroy and excited to give back to the town that has accepted me and my family so openly.”
