Daniel Cormier had a rough end to his UFC 317 weekend. After commentating the Las Vegas event on June 28, 2025, the former UFC champ returned to San Jose Airport on June 29 to find his new truck stolen. In an X video, he vented:

“This is some real Bullsht man! Thank you to the San Jose PD who are all over this sht!” He added, “Last week, I kind of thought I’ve had the same vehicle since 2018, driving Raptors over and over. So, I changed the car. I thought, okay, [it’d] be cool to get a different vehicle. I get back from UFC 317, I’m going up and down looking for my car… they tell me my car was driven out of the parking structure on Thursday night. Somebody stole my truck at the San Jose Airport. Goddamn it, unbelievable!”

The theft stung, but Cormier thanked the San Jose Police Department for their quick work.

Cormier’s Bad Break

Cormier was in Las Vegas for UFC 317, where Ilia Topuria knocked out Charles Oliveira to win the lightweight title. He called the fights with Jon Anik and Joe Rogan at T-Mobile Arena. After flying back to San Jose, he learned his new truck, bought days earlier to replace his 2018 Ford Raptor, was stolen on Thursday, from the airport parking structure. A local news station caught his emotional reaction, showing him near tears. By June 30, San Jose police recovered the truck in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but no arrests have been reported, and the investigation is ongoing.

Cormier, 46, is a UFC great. He fought from 2009 to 2020, retiring with a 22-3 record. He won the light heavyweight title in 2015 by submitting Anthony Johnson and the heavyweight title in 2018 by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226. He defended the light heavyweight belt three times, beating Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva, but lost it to Jon Jones in their 2017 rematch, later overturned due to Jones’ failed drug test. His heavyweight run ended with losses to Miocic in 2019 and 2020.

A two-time Olympic wrestler (2004, 2008), Cormier now shines as an ESPN MMA analyst and UFC commentator, co-hosting DC & RC with Ryan Clark. He also coaches wrestling at Gilroy High School in California.

The theft hit hard, with Cormier’s frustration clear in his video. Fighters and media showed support, noting his shock after upgrading his ride. The San Jose PD’s fast response and the truck’s recovery were positive, but the lack of arrests keeps the case open.

Cormier’s next gig is calling UFC 318 in London. The San Jose PD continues to investigate, with no new details on suspects.
