Daniel Cormier A UFC Heavyweight Champion Has Open As Favorite Over Stipe Miocic
Daniel Cormier’s dream match with Brock Lesnar nixed on Tuesday night when ESPN reported that Lesnar is retired. In the aftermath of this UFC announced Cormier would defend his heavyweight title against a Stipe Miocic whom he knocked out last year at UFC 226.
The fight is reportedly close to finalization phase for UFC 241 PPV event on August 17th in Anaheim.
Miocic has called out a rematch with Cormier on several occasions since losing a title. But Cormier was pursuing Lesnar bout even until now, so thanks to WWE stars retirement plan.
Cormier vs. Miocic rematch has been long seen as a backup plan if Lesnar match fails to come to fruition and now early betting odds have already been doing rounds.
Considering, the fact that Daniel Cormier knocked out Miocic in their first meeting last year, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that ‘DC’ is favorite to win the rematch. Betting oddsmakers, however, give Cormier a slight edge.
Cormier opens as a -150 favorite, meanwhile Miocic opens as +130 underdog.
