UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier blast on Interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson for not accepting Khabib Nurmagomedov’s fight. Khabib who wants to fight Ferguson.
Nurmagomedov has some unfinished business with Tony Ferguson- they’ve been slated to fight each other as far back as 2015.
Interim champ Tony Ferguson has his eyes set for potential title-unifying “money fight” with lightweight champ Conor Mcgregor. Ferguson doesn’t want to defend the belt against Nurmagomedov. After what happened earlier this year, with Khabib was pulled out of their interim title fight UFC 209 because of a botched weight cut.
Allegedly, Nurmagomedov and Ferguson were offered a deal to fight at UFC 219. Nurmagomedov says he accepted the fight, but Ferguson never did.

Shortly after, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier blast on Tony Ferguson in support of Nurmagomedov for not signing the contract.

“So, I walk into the gym today and Khabib Nurmagomedov walks up and says the UFC is wanting to make me versus Tony Ferguson for December 30th [UFC 219]. They wanna make the card bigger for end of the year. Then he tells me that Tony is saying no to the fight. Come on Tony, that ain’t gangsta bruh. Take the fight man! And by the way UFC says Tony won’t ever fight Conor [McGregor] so that’s not an option. The fans really want it. Come on My friend, hit him with that low single u always talk about.”
As of now, Conor Mcgregor has no plan to return to Octagon until next year, so a fight with Tony Ferguson is off the table now. Right now, this is all talk from second-hand sources, but Cormier gave his back to Khabib for the big match-up.
Cris Cyborg vs. Holly Holm for the women’s featherweight title was booked last week for UFC 219 on December 30. But UFC wasn’t ready to declare it was the main event. Moreover, UFC in hopes of booking a main-event worthy fight for the year-end pay-per-view in Las Vegas. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony is surfacing now, and he accepts it, even though khabib is already booked with Edson Barboza on the cards.
