The hype for UFC 200 continues even though we already had UFC 198 a.k.a. Brazilian UFC 200, which was good enough for me. We’re not going to get Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor, but at least we get Jon Jones against his arch nemesis Daniel Cormier. This is probably the biggest rivalry in MMA and may not even end at UFC 200 depending on how it goes. Needless to say, with all the bad blood, DC has gotten a little touchy about the subject.
Listen, simple fact of the matter is that DC’s record is insane. Not only is his only loss at Light Heavyweight to the consensus #1 P4P king, he has wins over some of the top Heavyweights in the world including Bigfoot Silva, Frank Mir, Josh Barnett and Roy Nelson. You have to show proper reverence to that. These dudes on this “local Philadelphia show” didn’t and paid the consequences.
At least it was all in good fun. Is it a little cheesy? Sure… but way better than the CM Punk Chicago promotion.
