  • DC effortlessly beat “The Eagle”

Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov decided to take on each other in a friendly grappling match. Unsurprisingly, DC got the better of “The Eagle.”

DC didn’t break a sweat

Both Cormier and Nurmagomedov have long been retired from MMA but every now and then, they still hit the gym. Sometimes, they even grapple with each other.

In a recent video clip now circulating online, Nurmagomedov was filmed trying his best to work his way into a submission attempt on Cormier. Given the massive size difference, the former lightweight champion could be seen giving it all he got to submit his heavyweight pal.

On the other hand, DC was just chilling as Nurmagomedov forcefully tried to put his weight on him. In fact, the former UFC two-division champ was even trash-talking “The Eagle” by calling his submission attempts “baby offense.”

Moments later, Cormier effortlessly escaped Nurmagomedov and took control of the match.

Khabib and DC have been great pals

Cormier and Nurmagomedov go way back as they have been teammates at AKA during their active years in the sport. Their friendship carried on even in retirement and they have always supported each other’s endeavors.

Cormier officially called it a career after losing to Stipe Miocic for the second time in their trilogy match at UFC 252. Nurmagomedov followed suit and hung the gloves in 2021. His last fight was a title bout against Justin Gaethje in which he defended his belt after winning via submission.
