Dana White has found a production team he thinks beat UFC at its own worst habit.
White ripped the World Cup final broadcast after Spain’s 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina, turning his own recent UFC criticism into a joke at soccer’s expense. The setup came from UFC’s broadcast mistake at UFC 329, when Shakur Stevenson was shown on-screen as NBA champion Jalen Williams.
“You know what’s crazy? I actually teed up the guys who are doing the production, the guys responsible for the production of the World Cup, for you guys to hit a grand slam home run,” White said. “Even though everybody in my team was arguing with me saying that you are the worst, I said, ‘No, we are the worst. They didn’t fuck it up as bad as we did.'”

Dana White Says UFC Lost The Worst-Production Crown
White said the World Cup broadcast then went further than UFC’s own celebrity-graphics problem. He pointed to celebrity presentation and a flyover issue while sarcastically congratulating the producers.
“And what do you guys do? You triple down today and you just go, ‘Fuck you Dana White, you’re not beating us. We’re the worst production team in the history of sports to ever show celebrities,'” White said. “I bow down. Congratulations to the producers of the World Cup. You guys win. You guys fucked up that flyover too.”
“I’m not gonna nitpick,” White said. “I’m just giving you credit where credit is due. You guys absolutely fucking suck. We are the second worst.”
The rant landed one day after the World Cup final also spilled into the combat-sports feed through Conor McGregor’s failed $100,000 Argentina bet. Spain won the match 1-0 after Ferran Torres scored in extra time, and White’s clip turned the broadcast around that same event into a new comparison point for UFC’s own production misses.
For UFC, the timing is awkward but useful. White had already admitted the promotion botched the Stevenson graphic, and now he is framing the World Cup final as the one broadcast that made UFC look slightly better by comparison. His next major event cycle comes with Magomed Ankalaev vs. Bogdan Guskov headlining UFC Abu Dhabi, where the promotion gets another chance to keep the celebrity graphics and broadcast pieces clean.
