Dana White is trying to shut down one obvious criticism of the UFC White House card before it gets any louder. Even with the event set for the White House lawn and Donald Trump expected to attend, White says the June 14 show is not political. He says it is a UFC-funded celebration tied to America’s 250th birthday, not a government-backed rally with fights attached.
That is a hard sell on the surface, because this thing already screams spectacle. The setting alone guarantees people will read politics into it. But White is drawing a bright line now, especially as the promotion keeps building up the card and the noise around it. With Trump already floating a new name for the event, the UFC clearly knew this show would get framed as more than just another fight night.
Dana White says the UFC White House event “has NOTHING to do with politics”:
“This is the UFC’s gift to the 250th birthday of America… This isn’t about politics. This is about the United States.
If you love America, you’re gonna love this event.”

Dana White says the White House card is a UFC gift, not a political event
White said:
“We’re paying the entire bill on all of this.”
He added, “Everything that you see. Not one tax dollar will go into this. This is the UFC’s gift for the 250 th birthday of America.”
Then he went straight at the criticism.
“One of the myths that I’d like to crush is, I don’t care if you’re far right, far left, or right down the middle.”
White continued, “Wherever you sit politically, because everybody sits somewhere politically these days. This isn’t about politics. This is about the United States, what this country is about, how it was built, and where we all came from. If you love America, you’re gonna love this event.”
He finished with the clearest line of the bunch.
“It has nothing to do with politics. We just happen to be on the White House lawn, and the President will be there.”
That explanation is not going to stop people from side-eyeing the whole setup, but White has made the UFC’s pitch plain enough. He wants the event seen as a patriotic tentpole, not a partisan one. The card already has major pieces in place, including Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje at the top, and the company has stacked even more spectacle onto it with a $1 million crypto bonus pool.
You can agree with White or laugh at the framing, but the message itself is simple. The UFC wants this night sold as a massive American celebration, and White does not want the political label glued to it before the cage even gets set up.
