Dana White is wrestling with the growing expenses for the UFC White House event set for June 2026. With fights planned outdoors on the South Lawn, costs for staging, lighting, and restoring the historic grounds are already climbing into the millions.

The UFC Sphere event in Las Vegas previously set records for attendance and revenue, drawing over 16,000 fans and generating $22 million at the gate. While the White House event will have fewer attendees, the production aims to replicate that sense of spectacle in a historic and exclusive setting.

“You know what I’m battling right now is the budget for the White House card,” White told Jim Rome. “The budget is ugly. So we’re dealing with the budget right now.”

Even lawn restoration alone is expected to cost more than $700,000, and the elaborate lighting and stage setup could add several million more. With fewer than 5,000 seats available, many reserved for international dignitaries and VIPs, the UFC must balance spectacle with budget constraints.

Global Dignitaries and VIP Attendance

The White House card isn’t just about fights. White and President Donald Trump plan to host global guests and VIPs on the lawn, making the event a combination of world-class MMA and high-level ceremonial pageantry. Early designs show a visually impressive layout that merges fights with entertainment for attendees.

Jon Jones has been the most persistent in requesting to fight at the White House event. Despite publicly pleading with Dana White, the UFC CEO deemed Jones too unpredictable for such a high-profile occasion.

When it comes to competing in front of an international audience, other stars are also showing interest. Conor McGregor, Mike Perry, and Alex Pereira have all expressed enthusiasm about participating, signaling the card could feature some of the sport’s biggest names.

The combination of fighter demand, VIP attendance, and complex production logistics creates a delicate balancing act for White and his team. Even as they navigate budgetary pressures, the UFC aims to deliver an event that’s both visually stunning and historically significant.
