“I think that that kid is the next big Brazilian star,” White said at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. “He’s on his way. Good looking, incredible physique, and fights like an animal.”

White also, went on to praise Costa’s adversary Uriah Hall.

“I was also impressed with Uriah Hall. The guy I thought Uriah Hall was gonna be at the end of The Ultimate Fighter was the guy that I saw tonight. That was the guy that I expected him to be after The Ultimate Fighter. He fought an incredible fight tonight. He was in his face, every time he got hit he would punch back with two or three punches. It was awesome, great fight.”

Costa has his eyes on former UFC middleweight champ Chris Weidman and wants to see him in New York City when the UFC returns to Madison Square Garden in November for UFC 230. Middleweight Israel Adesanya who just won The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale main event against Brad Tavares, called out Costa, upon asking Brazilian said he doesn’t know him. It remains to be seen if UFC grants him his wish.
