UFC president Dana White opened up about the texts he receives from Ronda Rousey to this day.

Inaugural and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has etched her name in the history books as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. She had a massive rise in popularity after joining the promotion and became one of the first true global superstars to transcend the sport, along with former two-division champion Conor McGregor.

In a recent appearance on UFC lightweight fighter Paddy Pimblett’s Chattin Pony show, Dana White detailed the close bond he developed working with ‘Rowdy.’

“Ronda Rousey, her and I are still super close,” White said. “The stuff that you were saying earlier, when we were talking about the fighter pay and all that other stuff, she, still to this day sends me texts of her home that she has in Hawaii, she’s got a home in Southern California, she built some crazy zombie apocalypse ranch in Oregon or something like that.

“She’s got all these different places and she will still send me a text and say, ‘This is all because of you. Thank you so much for believing in me and giving me the platform to change my life!’ She just had a baby and all that stuff. She’s one of the all-time greatest athletes that I’ve ever worked with.”

Rousey moved on from MMA to WWE

Rousey was at the heights of her power after going undefeated in her first 12 outings as a professional fighter. She scored wins over notable opponents, including Miesha Tate, Cat Zingano, and Liz Carmouche. Holly Holm handed Rousey the first defeat of her career in Nov. 2015 at UFC 193. Rousey was never the same after the loss. She returned for one final outing against Amanda Nunes in Dec. 2016 at UFC 207 before stepping away from the octagon.

She moved on to pro-wrestling and joined the massively popular WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), where she is a two-time SmackDown women’s champion.
