Dana White Put His Feelings After Last Night’s Wild Night That Rockhold And Holm Should Consider Retirement

UFC 239 Pay-Per-View MMA event was one hell of a wild night, and we witnessed some great surprises which went down last night (Sat, July 6, 2019) from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada.

Two former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Holly Holm suffered brutal losses. Rockhold made a 205-pound debut last night, but it didn’t go well when Jan Blachowicz knocks him out cold in the second frame with a wild fight-ending combination.

Meanwhile, former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm failed to recapture the title and suffered a massive KO loss in the first-round (head kick and punches). Holm early in the fight opened an assault with leg kicks while Nunes was defensive with the right hand. Nunes missed few chances but found a moment and landed a right head kick on Holm that dropped her on the ground. Holm tried to get back on her feet, but Nunes rushed in and hurled right hand on Holm’s jaw.

At the UFC 239 post-fight presser UFC head honcho Dana White gives his feelings on Luke Rockhold and Holly Holm’s losses.

First White suggest Rockhold should consider a retirement also praises his modeling career. (h/t MMAMania)

I think Luke Rockhold should talk about hanging it up,” White continued. “He broke his jaw tonight. So that’s a second broken jaw, he has been knocked out viciously a few times here. Shin is all banged up, he had to have a skin graph and all kinds of stuff. He has had a good career, he’s been a great fighter, I’d like to see him hang it up.”

“And he’s got another career that he’s actually doing well at. Everybody’s a f**king model, right? ‘I’m a model, I’m a model.’ That guy’s really modeling for Ralph Lauren. So good for him.”

White was also asked about Holm, whether she’ll get another title shot down the road. Should she hang her gloves for good?

“Listen, I don’t want to start going retirement crazy in here,” Dana said. “You know, she has had an amazing career. She is one of the sweetest human beings you can ever meet. And if you follow her on Instagram, she trains like a beast. She’s almost 40-years-old and she’s in ridiculous shape. The things that this woman can do physically with like the rings, gymnastics and all that stuff is phenomenal.”

”She’s an incredible athlete, she’s an incredible human being,” he said. “I think that she needs to take a look at, you know, what’s next for her and what she thinks – and I’m just saying that because I care about her. I care about her as a person. She’s amazing, so, I don’t know. Something we should probably talk about.”

Holm is now 2-5, while Rockhold is on a 1-3 skid. So considering those numbers, they need to think if they still have all to reach to the top.

Share your thought, do you think Holm and Luke should hang their gloves for good?

    • I agree on the Holly Holm Retirement! The fight was stopped at exactly the right time,
She I believe escaped from a real potential beating by being knocked down like that.
      Not hurt but stunned!
She is a great athlete but cannot match NUNES should they meet again she really may get badly beaten!
