Dana White On CM Punk After Defeat: “It Should Be A Wrap,”

CM Punk aka Phil Brooks clashed with Mike Jackson in a welterweight bout featured in the main card at UFC 225 PPV event Saturday night (June 9, 2018) from inside United Center in Chicago. But in the end, Punk didn’t prove that he could be victorious in the UFC as he dropped to 0-2 with a gruesome unanimous decision loss to Mike Jackson.

Punk returned to the octagon 21 months after a lopsided defeat against Mickey Gall at UFC 203 but was a tad more impressive this time around.

Afterward, UFC president Dana White praised Punk’s toughness but said he should bring his MMA career to a close. White wasn’t in a mood to give Punk another chance in UFC after two disappointing Octagon appearances. (Via MMAMania)

”No, it should be a wrap,” White said at the post-fight press conference. “The guy is 39 years old, I love the guy, he’s the nicest guy in the world. We gave him two shots and he had a lot of heart tonight in this fight. I think he should call it a wrap.”

White didn’t give any updates on CM Punk’s health as he had been transported to hospital immediately after the fight.

We don’t know yet,” he said. “Hopefully he’s okay. A lot of people got transported tonight.”

But did CM Punk win White’s heart? However, White expressed appreciation for Punk’s ability to take a punch and keep coming despite being violently overmatched.

”He did, he did,” White said. “He got clipped a lot in that fight and it looked like he was hurt bad a couple of times. He stayed in there, he went for three rounds.”

What are your thoughts, should CM Punk call it quit on his career?
