Dana White loves Uriah Hall, but says he just isn’t a fighter

People seem to be bagging on Uriah Hall’s performance at UFC on FOX Sports 1 but no one has acknowledged that Doomsday Howard put on an exceptional performance and completely nullified Uriah Hall’s offense. Sure there were a lot of high-fives, but before Saturday Doomsday was as gigantic underdog. In fact the only person that picked him was our own @Bauzen. Hit him up on Twitter and give him the props he deserves. While you’re at it, tell him to write something for MiddleEasy. We miss him.

At the UFC on FOX Sports 1 press conference, Dana White decided to address the Hall vs. Howard fight, and even claimed that Uriah just ‘isn’t a fighter.’

I love Uriah Hall. I have a great relationship with this kid. He’s one of the nicest human beings you can ever meet. He’s not a fighter, man.

If I could take Brad Pickett’s brain and heart and put it inside Uriah Hall’s body, holy s— there would be some damage done. Because Uriah Hall has all the physical attributes to be amazing. He’s got speed, he’s got power, he’s unbelievable. He doesn’t have what it mentally takes to fight here… That was a high-five competition.

Listen, you’re a nice guy. I get it. We’re not here to f—ing high five. We’re not here to shake hands. You do all that s— when the fight’s over. You’re here to fight.

Its a mental thing. He was this killer that everyone was afraid of on TUF, and then he comes into the big show where it really matters and this is going to make your livelihood and everything else, and he turns into this different person. This super nice guy. He was telling me after the Kelvin fight ‘You know, I really like him, he’s a really nice guy. OK, well that really nice guy just took everything you wanted. Do you get what I’m saying, does that make sense to you? I guess it doesn’t make sense to him.

Damn. When asked if Uriah Hall will be cut from the promotion Dana said he ‘didn’t know.’ Bummer for the TUFer — one of the most hyped prospects in the entire history of the series. Thanks to the UG for the transcription.
