Dana White: Khabib Could Get Fine Of $250,000 With Suspension Of Four To Six Months

UFC Head Honcho Dana White Says Khabib Can ‘Absolutely Keeps His Tile’ After UFC 229 Post-Fight Brawl

UFC 229 Mcgregor vs. Khabib was expected to be the biggest fight in the history of UFC, and as per the company’s head honcho Dana White, the numbers reflecting that Pay-Per-Views did more than 2 million buys.

Khabib who settle his business inside the Octagon went on to defeat former two-division champion Conor Mcgregor by submission in the fourth round via neck crank, but what happened afterward that caught everyone’s attention.

After scoring the win, Khabib leaped over Octagon fence and attacked Mcgregor’s cornerman in the crowd then all hell loose broke.

White was also disgusted and saddened by Khabib’s post-fight antics. Now ‘Eagle’ is facing severe sanctions from Nevada State Athletic Commission including the fighters who were part of melee.

White recently interview with TMZ and shared his thoughts on post-fight brawl and said Khabib shouldn’t have done it but he’ll he get hefty punishment from Commission.

“THEY TOOK HIS WHOLE PURSE RIGHT NOW AND THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT KEEPING HIS PURSE – I DO NOT THINK THAT THAT SHOULD HAPPEN. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP HIS WHOLE PURSE. (Via BJpenn)

I THINK THEY SHOULD TAKE A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS ($250,000) FROM HIM. HE ABSOLUTELY KEEPS HIS TITLE. AND HE’S GOING TO GET SUSPENDED, SO MAYBE YOU GIVE HIM A FOUR TO SIX MONTHS SUSPENSION.”

The bad blood between the pair become intense when Khabib cornered and slapped McGregor’s friend Artem Lobov during the UFC 223 fight week. A furious Irishman flew to New York with members of his entourage at the UFC 223 media day and attacked a bus carrying Dagestani Native and other UFC fighters.

White said the situation at UFC 229 was different as compared to what Mcgregor did in Brooklyn back earlier this year in April.

“IT’S DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU GUYS. THIS WASN’T AT AN EVENT. THIS WAS IN THE BOWELS OF THE BARCLAYS CENTER, IT WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SITUATION. [MCGREGOR] WAS DEALING WITH THE STATE OF NEW YORK AND THE POLICE. IN THIS THING, [NURMAGOMEDOV] WAS PART OF SOMETHING THAT WAS REGULATED BY THE NEVADA STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION. HE WAS AT AN EVENT WITH MORE PEOPLE THAT HAVE EVER BEEN AT AN EVENT FOR A UFC EVENT IN VEGAS. THERE WERE TONS OF FANS THERE. IT’S A MUCH DIFFERENT SITUATION.”

On being asked what’s next for Khabib Nurmagomedov, White said it’s unclear at the moment let’s see how Commission thing plays out. But head honcho has something in mind that we all may want too.

“I DON’T KNOW [WHO’S NEXT FOR HIM]. WE HAVE TO SEE HOW THIS STUFF PLAYS OUT WITH KHABIB AND WHAT’S NEXT. TONY FERGUSON LOOKED AMAZING THAT NIGHT, THAT FIGHT WAS INCREDIBLE, SO WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.”

Do you think Khabib should get four to six month of suspension or its too much?
