After Hearing A Dominated Performace Of Jordan Against Ben Askren, UFC Head Honcho Dana White Is Interested In Bringing Him To The Octagon

Last night from New York Burroughs thumped UFC welterweight contender Ben Askren to earn 11-0 technical fall in a charity match at ‘Beat the Streets’ wrestling event.

It didn’t take Burroughs long to end the match after he landed couple double takedowns to score a win over Askren via technical superiority.

Wrestling great Jordan Burroughs recently told ESPN that he’d like to try MMA at least once. Olympic gold medalist and four-time world champion Jordan also said he’s been contemplating from past few years to test his hands in fighting but understand the nature of the sports. However, his focus remains on what he does. (h/t MMAJunkie)

“Yeah, listen, I’m always interested in, you know, these guys that are considered the best athletes in the world in whatever it is they do wanting to come to the UFC,” White said on Tuesday’s edition of The Jim Rome Show. “Yeah, obviously I’d be very interested.”

White heard the results of a wrestling match from Jim Rome and how one of the top UFC fighters beaten from the hands of great athlete makes him wants to bring Jordan to the UFC.

Ben Askren is a former NCAA champion won belts under ONE FC and Bellator champion. He’s considered one of the finest grappler in the MMA. During his time under those banners ‘Funky’ acquired a rivalry with Dana White.

“Askren is a very interesting guy. He and I have a long history of smack talk between us, and then he retired and was interested in coming into the UFC, and I think timing is everything, and the timing was right for him to come, and he’s been fun since he’s been here.“

Jordan Burroughs is currently preparing to compete at World Championships of wrestling in September.
