Dana White On Greg Hardy’s Foe Dmitrii Smoliakov: “I Don’t Know Who The F**k That Guy Beat In Nine Fights”

After Seeing A Fight, Dana White Wondered How Dmitrii Smoliakov Managed To Put Together Nine Victories

Disgraced former NFL player Greg Hardy finally scores a first UFC win after defeating Dmitrii Smoliakov via first-round TKO (punches) on (Sat., April 27, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 150 from inside BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hardy looked more relaxed and confident in his second Octagon outing. Greg carefully cast his punches. Dmitrii Smoliakov couldn’t sustain hardy’s punishment before dropping on the floor. Greg Hardy rushed and landed vicious ground-and-pound en-route to a TKO win.

The fight was heavily one-sided as Hardy easily dispatches Dmitrii. After the match, much of the talk surrounded on Smoliakov’s lackluster performance even UFC president Dana White questioned how Smoliakov has nine wins in his resume. He also refutes the claims of ‘the fight’ was set up.

“I’m not gonna say that I loved that fight,” White said at the UFC Fort Lauderdale post-fight presser (h/t MMAFighting). “You guys know, I’ve been doing this for 20 years, we don’t do set-up fights for anybody. And if I was a fan and probably some of the media, the way some of the media acts, I would think that was—I don’t know who the f*ck that guy beat in nine fights, but I’d like to see the nine guys he beat. That was weird.”

Smoliakov didn’t even try to test Hardy’s power. Hardy looked prepared and got his work done. UFC head honcho Dana White was complimentary of Hardy’s achievement.

“Not to take anything away from Hardy,” White said. “Hardy came in in great shape, Hardy doesn’t make fights, me and my guys do, and Hardy came in and better shape and he did what he had to do. He treated that guy like he was supposed to.”

White still doesn’t believe that Smoliakov holds nine professional victories.

“No, I mean, that guy’s record is 9-2,” White said. “I want to see the nine guys he beat, they might be in this room right now, actually.”

Hardy is 1-1 in the UFC, and his latest win shows he does have knockout power.
