Dana White Sees Conor Mcgregor Fighting This Summer, And Possibly Donald Cerrone Could Be His Opponent

UFC head honcho Dana White teased last month that he and former champion Conor Mcgregor are going to meet in a few weeks and it seems things are finally getting together. As per UFC boss, he and Mcgregor are going to sit down in a week to discuss his long-awaited return to Octagon.

Mcgregor last fought back in October at UFC 229 where he suffered a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Both fighters received suspensions from NASC for triggering post-fight brawl.

White said he sees Mcgregor fighting this summer.

“He and I are getting together very soon, within the next week, and we’re going to figure out what’s next for him,” White told the ‘Jim Rome Show’ via MMA Weekly. “I see him fighting this summer.”

There are a lot of opponents ready to take their chance on Mcgregor upon his return but that one fighter everyone wants to see Irishman is against Donald Cerrone. Both were linked to throwdown earlier this year, but things fall apart due to a spat between promotion and Mcgregor. Shortly after ‘Cowboy’ said, he is done chasing Conor Mcgregor fight thus call him out again following his impressive win over Al Iaquinta at UFC Ottawa.

Considering the reason for failed bout negotiation between Mcgregor and promotion Dana White said a fight between Cerrone and Irishman makes all the sense.

“The Cerrone fight makes sense,” White said. “There’s a couple different options out there for him. He was talking about the Cerrone fight at one point. I don’t really know but that fight makes sense.”

If promotion wants they can also book Mcgregor against Tony Ferguson who recently teased his return after having a successful meeting with the UFC brass.

Who should Mcgregor fight upon his return, Cerrone or Ferguson?
