Dana White Confirms WWE Star CM Punk Will Return To UFC

CM Punk, a former WWE Champion made his (MMA) debut back in 2016 against welterweight prospect Mickey Gall. Punk was immediately taken down and battered on the canvas with ground-and-pound before being forced to tap out to a rear-naked choke in the opening round at UFC 203.

Punk, 39 trains out of Roufusport MMA in Milwaukee, before his unsuccessful MMA debut.

After his debut loss many expected Punk to quite and perhaps return to professional wrestling, but instead, he insisted that he had fun inside the Octagon and wanted to try it again.

UFC President Dana White recently spoke to The Associated Press ahead of UFC 220, that he’s aware CM Punk wants to compete in the Octagon at least one more time.

“I like that guy, he’s a good dude. He wants one more. He wants to get another shot. I’m going to give it to him. He’s a completely different case than most normal human beings, so I’m going to give him another shot.”

White noted that there’s no candidate lined up yet for Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, but said that he was “working on it.”

Jack Gallagher Current WWE Cruiserweight and former MMA fighter caught wind that CM Punk will fight again, and threw his name in the hat to possibly fight the ex-WWE star.

CM Punk’s most recent appearance for UFC came at UFC 218 when he came to support one of his training partners. There had been reports at the time that Punk and Dana White were going to sit down to discuss his future at that point, but that didn’t come to pass.

What are your thoughts on Gallagher calling out CM Punk to fight him in the UFC Octagon next?
