Dan Henderson vs Shogun is just another in a long line of head to head matchups I’m on the edge of my seat to witness this 4th quarter. It joins the NBA players vs owners, World of Warcraft vs Star Wars: The Old Republic and COD vs Battlefield 3 at the top of my list of things to argue with Gary LaPlante about. Coming off 3 straight knockout victories, Hendo feels pretty darn confident about his November 19th matchup with Shogun Rua, in fact he thinks he’s better than Shogun in every way. He expressed these feelings to a group of people at the UFC 139 press conference yesterday.
“Shogun’s a tough fighter, he’s been around a long time. He’s been in there with some of the top guys and done well. He’s well rounded, throwing some nice knees and nice kicks, [and] he’s got some power in his punches.
“With that being said, I think I’m better in every aspect and should definitely do well in that fight. It’s a five rounder, but I think I’ll be able to wear him out, so it could be an advantage to me.”
“I would love to match myself up with (Jon Jones) one of these days, whether it’s for a belt or not. He’s one of those awkward fighters that makes it a fun challenge – he’s a fun guy to fight. He has some different tools that he uses, and it’s always fun to figure out how to beat him.”
Someone should just emblazon Call of Duty on Shogun’s Vale Tudo shorts and have Clinch Gear make some Battlefield 3 t-shirts. It’s the only way.
