Chris Curtis Cancels Out Rodolfo Vieira’s Grappling For Decision Win – UFC Vegas 57 Results (Highlights)

‘The Action Man’ is back in action. 

This time, Chris Curtis takes on BJJ superstar Rodolfo Vieira at UFC Vegas 57. 

Round 1:

Curtis takes the center of the Octagon. Vieira goes for a takedown in which Curtis defends well. Curtis reverses and ends up on top momentarily. The two go back up to their  feet. Vieira gets Curtis into the clinch and delivers a strike to the crotch of Curtis, which stops the action. 

The fight continues. Vieira rushes in for another takedown attempt but Curtis shows great defense. He holds off Vieira and the two separate. Vieira catches Curtis with a few good shots on the feet. Not long after, Vieira kicks Curtis in the nuts once more. Curtis is given a break before the action restarts. Vieira tries for another takedown but Curtis doesn’t let him.

The middleweights exchange a multitude of strikes on the feet to end the round. 

Round 2:

Curtis hunts down Vieira with constant pressure. But his striking success would be short-lived with Vieira chasing the takedown once again. Curtis separates and is caught with another low blow. Curtis shrugs it off and defends yet another takedown attempt from Curtis. Curtis works the jab against Vieira, peppering him with shots. Curtis works the body and the head now, landing effectively. 

Round 3:

Curtis is more confident in round 3 and it shows with his striking. Curtis continues to push the pace with his high variety of punches. Curtis’ takedown defense remains perfect as Vieira tries once again to get the fight onto the mat. Curtis lands to the body before going to the head. Vieira goes for another takedown but is unsuccessful. Curtis continues the offensive on the feet as he denies more and more takedowns. Fight ends with Curtis trying to take Viera’s head off while he’s on the ground. 

Official result: Chris Curtis defeats Rodolfo Vieira by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
