Cub Swanson unlocked the ‘Beautiful Destruction’ achievement at UFC 162

Up until this fight ended I was unsure as to what exactly “beautiful destruction” really meant. At first I thought about seeing that skyscraper fall in the Battlefield 4 gameplay demo at E3. Then I couldn’t stop picturing Jared Leto’s smashed up face and blonde hair in Fight Club. Either way, this idea of “beautiful destruction” was something that I couldn’t help by be fascinated by ever since Cub Swanson said that that was what he wanted to achieve in his UFC 162 bout against Dennis Siver. And did he ever.

The fight was awesome, going back and forth into both fighter’s favor. Siver was looking like a German tank at 145 and was about to derail Cub’s impressive 4-fight winning streak, then Cub turned it on, and Siver could do nothing to stop it.

Towards the half way mark of the third round Swanson knocked Siver down and then straight up played his own beautifully destructive version of paddle ball with Siver’s head and the mat. It was violent. It was beautiful. It was destructive. Don’t believe me? Check out the GIF below, props to the Zombieprophet.
