Cub Swanson Is Ready To Fight Nate Diaz At UFC 222

Max Holloway, who suffered a leg injury this week which forced him to withdraw from his scheduled title defense against Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, which takes place March 3 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s the second time the matchup has been called off due to injury.

Regardless of Holloway’s removal, the former UFC lightweight titleholder Edgar did indicate he would still be fighting at UFC 222.

“Here we go again, definitely disappointed but fate wasn’t having it. I wish Max a speedy recovery but the show must go on. See you all in Vegas March 3rd!”

Whether or not that fight will come to materialize remains to be seen, but as of now Frankie Edgar, who hasn’t competed since UFC 211 in May, is still training for the card, as per to his head coach Mark Henry.

UFC is actively hunting for a new opponent for Edgar. There were talks of securing a line for unbeaten contender Brain Ortega with Edgar, however, this bout isn’t a PPV draw for a headliner, so UFC is in a big dilemma.

However, news just broke that Nate Diaz expressed interest in saving a UFC 222 main event.

Shortly after that, featherweight contender, Cub Swanson, responded to a fan on social media where he offered to help save March’s UFC 222 event by fighting Nate Diaz.

The fan had tweeted “Nate Diaz vs. Cub Swanson UFC 222 Save the PPV!”, to which Cub replied, “I’m down!”

Cub Swanson has gone 4-1 over his past five fights, with his lone loss in that time coming to Brian Ortega at UFC Fight Night 123 back in December 2017.

Meanwhile, Nate Diaz has not fought since suffering a decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202.

How many of you interested in Cub Swanson Vs. Nate Diaz fight? Or it should be Nate Diaz Vs. Frankie Edgar?
