Cro Cop says he had a ‘mental barrier’ in the UFC

I have a mental barrier regarding the Halo 3 servers going down when Halo 4 comes out. I don’t want to believe it and the fact that I won’t be able to go online to play Halo 3 whenever I want is messing with my head. I remember when the EA MMA servers were shut down, it was a horribly sad time. Now they are pulling the plug on Master Chief? Ugh. I can relate to Cro Cop being ‘frozen’ in the UFC. That’s how I felt in Halo: Reach. I just didn’t have my same ‘touch’ that would land me on top of the leaderboards with great regularity. From death comes life and Halo 4 may rejuvenate me both physically and mentally. I hope it does. I’m ready to take another run at this Halo universe, especially since David Fincher is kind of on board. Maybe that’s what Cro Cop needs; a cool trailer produced by David Fincher leading up to his k-1 GP title run?

Fighters Only talked to Cro Cop about his UFC run that was not unlike my Halo: Reach run, and his fire that’s still slightly burning inside him.

“Semi-finals are passed, Blake is behind me. I have seen some idiotic comments, I guess people expected me to knock him out in the first seconds of the first round. But it’s not that, Blake is a young guy – a lot younger than me, unbeaten in 26 fights and has little unusual style of fighting, a lot of moving, not to mention running around the ring,”

“I am very pleased with the fight despite the fact that the fight did not get the finish. For the first time since Pride I was aggressive and attacked constantly; in past years that has not been the case. In the UFC I had a feeling that I was ‘frozen’ and mostly I moved away [from opponents], I had a huge mental barrier. Why I cannot explain it any more than that doesn’t matter.

“I think I’ve managed to eliminate the things that are bothering me, both mentally and physically, but no more about it because it was a really strange and complicated story. I feel great, physically and mentally, and I think I’ll take the belt at the end in spite of everything and everyone. And yes, next year I will be perforating in MMA again.”

I’m glad Cro Cop is looking to make a line of holes to facilitate separation in MMA.
