Cris Cyborg Wants Another Fight Now Before Nunes Superfight In December

Both champions Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes on board to fight each other, but UFC champs are at a disagreement about the date of a possible meeting in the octagon, when and where that fight should take place. Earlier this week, Cyborg said she signed the paperwork for her to fight Nunes at UFC 228 in Dallas on Sept. 8. Meanwhile, women’s bantamweight champion posted a photo where she had signed a fight agreement for UFC 232.

Talk of a fight between these two champions started to pick up heat earlier this year, both women went on social media back and forth, but ended up defended their belts respectively against different opponents. As of late progression of their showdown seems bit slowdown, as there is no official announcement from UFC yet. However, Cris Cyborg is unimpressed with the date of a super fight with Nunes, willing to grant Nunes her wish of fighting in December, but before that she wants another fight.

I am healthy and ready to fight now. 10 months is a long time to be outside of the cage in the prime of your career when you are healthy and ready to fight.

I haven’t fought in 4 months. By the time dec comes I’ve been out of the cage 10 months. I’m healthy and ready to fight now.

Cyborg continues she’d accepted this fight three times in the past and pushed for this showdown to happen on July 7, at UFC 226 but nothing comes to fruition. Cyborg hasn’t competed since successfully defended her title after knocking out Yana Kunitskaya back in March, seems hesitant to wait until December for another fight. Cyborg hasn’t tasted a defeat since she dropped her pro debut in 2005. She is unbeaten in 21 straight bouts.

Meanwhile, Nunes, last coming off a fifth-round TKO win over Raquel Pennington in May, riding a seven-fight winning streak.

Cyborg her current UFC contract nearing its end, and she teased boxing fight against Cecilia Braekhus once she done with Octagon. We are wondering if that’s a reason UFC isn’t keeping her active inside Octagon unless she signs a new contract.

What do you say, UFC should let Cyborg fight in the meantime before a super fight with Nunes or she should wait?
