Cris Cyborg: Ronda Rousey Needs Professional Help To Get Over Her UFC Losses

Cris Cyborg, a UFC women’s featherweight champion spoke to MMA Fighting about former champ Ronda Rousey’s move to the WWE. Cyborg became champion after defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 last year. Following that, She defeated Holly Holm via unanimous decision at UFC 219 last December to retain her title. Cyborg continues to reign supreme in the UFC.

There’s one female super fight that had fans intrigued more than any possible other; it was between Featherweight champion Cyborg and Rousey who never competed against one another. Rousey’s downfall as the most dominant female fighter was swift, suffering two knockout losses to Amand Nunes and Holly Holm.

Rousey is back in the spotlight after signing with (WWE). The fan response showed that Rousey is indeed still a popular star. Cyborg speaking to MMAFighting said she feels Ronda Rousey will hit her stride in the world of sports entertainment.

“I believe that she will be happy in WWE, and it’s completely different from the reality of MMA. For an example, wins and losses are decided before the shows.

I think it’s normal,” Cyborg responded in reference to Rousey not wanting to talk about her back to back losses in MMA. “In reality, we can only talk about things that we already overcame in our minds. She hasn’t overcome her MMA losses yet, even in another stage of her career. Sometimes people need professional help to get over it.”

Ronda Rousey didn’t discuss her past two brutal UFC losses during her interview with ESPN; while Cyborg isn’t questioning the decision.

Cris Cyborg has been chasing a super fight with now-former champ Ronda Rousey for years, is holding a featherweight title currently. Her next fight is in talks with bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes is yet to be defined.

“My focus is to fight someone in my division because I hope it grows. But like I said, I’ve accepted to fight Amanda [Nunes] at UFC 226 on July 7, if she wants that so much. Now my manager is negotiating the terms so this fight happens.”

Cyborg said she has accepted to fight with Amanda Nunes this summer at UFC 226 on July 7th.
