- Cris Cyborg reacted to two-time Olympic champion Kayla Harrison’s loss to Larissa Pacheco
- The Brazilian also sent a message to PFL founder Donn Davis
Cris Cyborg is set for her second boxing match next month. However, the reigning Bellator women’s featherweight champion still found time to react to the recent upset loss of Kayla Harrison to Larissa Pacheco at the PFL 2022 championships.
A friendly advice
Needless to say, Cyborg was elated to have witnessed her compatriot Pacheco snap Harrison’s flawless MMA record. But surprisingly, the Brazilian also wanted Harrison to keep her head up as she also knows how it feels to have an unbeaten streak come to an end.
“Tonight will only make Kayla a better fighter,” Cyborg wrote on Twitter. “One thing I learned after going 14 years undefeated is that sometimes you need to lose to become your best…Kayla will be back and she will grow from this experience. Congrats Larissa Pacheco, you are a real world champion.”
Pacheco did the PFL good
Cyborg also joked about how Pacheco “saved the PFL $3 million dollars” in the process.
It can be recalled that PFL founder Donn Davis previously stated that the promotion was ready to offer $1 million apiece to Cyborg and Harrison to show up, and $2 million bonus for the winner. Now that Pacheco has beaten Harrison, Cyborg suggested that everything about that offer could change and the PFL was fortunate it didn’t happen in the first place.
“I think Donn Davis owes Larissa Pacheco a backroom bonus,” Cyborg wrote. “She just saved the PFL $3 million dollars.”
As it stands, Cyborg will be facing Gabrielle Holloway in a boxing match on December 10. It is yet to be determined whether she will still be interested in taking on Harrison in the future.
