Somewhere in Brazil, a leather heavy bag is hanging from a gym ceiling and spilling sand onto the rubber Jiu-Jitsu mats beneath it. The gym owner is frantically going through his utility closet to find a roll of duct tape to temporarily repair the bag before Cris Cyborg comes back to the gym to rip the bag open again with a series of strikes that have rendered more women unconscious than Justin Bieber’s dancing ability.
The former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion was stripped of her belt after testing positive for anabolic steroids, and has subsequently been going through unparalleled levels of criticism from fans, fighters, and media ever since. This morning, we have also learned that she separated from her husband since December, raising more questions in what may have lead to her most recent downward spiral of negative attention.
