Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal are apparently in a blood feud.

UFC 272 is just six days away, and every day we get something between the two former teammates that will headline the event. Covington says he and ‘Gamebred’ are in a blood feud this time.

“Way More Personal”

On Sunday, Covington spoke with TMZ Sports about his main event fight at UFC 272 with former roommate Masvidal. Of course, the former interim welterweight champion had some things to say about how personal the fight is.

“This is way more personal. This is a blood feud,” Covington said. “This goes back to a brotherhood. We were eight years together, every single day, side by side, couldn’t leave each other – like best friends. Now, we’re the biggest bitter enemies. He is the one person on earth that I don’t give a shit about, every time I see him I want to send him straight to hell. Luckily, I get to do it in the UFC octagon next Saturday night. It’s going to be bad, I’m going to make him suffer for backstabbing me and turning his back and running this fake narrative to the media.”

When asked how he sees the fight going, Covington told TMZ he plans on inflicting pain on his former best friend and taking his sweet ol time.

“I see a lot of pain. I’m going to inflict so much pain on Jorge Masvidal, he’s not going to be the same person ever again. He keeps talking about baptism, it’s not going to be a baptism, it’s going to be a funeral. It is Jorge Masvidal’s career-ending funeral,” Covington said.

“It’s going to be violent and I’m not going to finish it quick. I could easily finish it quickly because I do it all the time when we used to train together. But this one I’m going to drag it out and make him suffer. It will probably be the first time in a UFC main event that someone will verbally tap out and say he can’t no more of a beating.”
