Cormier training partner’s shocking revelation: Cormier didn’t fight to his potential at UFC 182

Luke Rockhold helped contender Daniel Cormier prepare for last weekend’s eventual loss against UFC champion Jon Jones. And now, in this shocking post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani, he reveals that Cormier “didn’t fight to his potential” at UFC 182.

“He didn’t go out there and fight to his potential,” he said, surprisingly.

The words were unexpected, coming from such a supportive friend. But completely breaking with convention, Rockhold speculated that Cormier could have done better, had he performed at his best on the day of the fight. And he repeated once more for emphasis, at about the 40 second mark, that Daniel “just didn’t fight to his potential.”

“You gotta give it up to Jon,” the morose fighter continued, full of surprises, absolutely cracking the mold for standard post-loss interviews by a supportive team member.
