UFC light heavyweight contender and winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19, Corey Anderson, recently signed a new UFC deal and agreed to step in on short notice fight against Glover Teixeira.
Teixeira was supposed to meet Ilir Latifi in the co-main event of UFC Hamburg on July 22, but Latifi pulled out due to injury.
Anderson quickly took to social media to give his nod about this fight, and UFC promptly took the notice, made the showdown official.
I wanted my rematch with @ShogunRua but I'll fill in against @gloverteixeira as well. @AliAbdelaziz00 @ufc @danawhite @Mickmaynard2 #opportunityawaits #overtimetotherescue #UFCHamburg https://t.co/uAtiyrtENu

“When opportunity knocks you answer,” Anderson wrote on social media. “I got where I am now, off the right opportunities on short notice fights and staying in the gym. Happy to announce that I have signed my fourth contract with the UFC and I will be fighting my 12th fight in my UFC career against Glover Teixeira in two weeks.”
Anderson (10-4) snapped a two-fight win streak after picking a decision victory over Patrick Cummins in April.
Teixeira (27-6) hasn’t fought since defeating Misha Cirkunov via first-round TKO in Winnipeg back in 2017.
UFC Fight Night 134 is set to take place at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany on July 22, 2018, with main headliner feature Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Anthony Smith.
