Could we see Conor McGregor vs. Jake Paul in 2025?

According to ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez, it’s possible. On Monday, Rodriguez took to social media and revealed that a fight between McGregor and ‘The Problem Child’ is “on the table” for the second half of the year.

“Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor on the table for July, August or September 2025 in India,” Rodriguez wrote.

The report comes days after the Irish megastar dropped a bombshell on X claiming that he was in talks for an exhibition boxing bout with Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul.

“The rumors of a bout with [Topuria] are false,” McGregor posted. “I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambrani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”

Mere hours after McGregor’s post, Jake Paul claimed that the Irishman’s team had reached out to him to negotiate a fight between the two of them.

“Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor & his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us,” the younger Paul wrote. “As we told them privately & I’m now saying it publicly… The only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions.

“Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants.”

Would Dana White Really Let Conor McGregor Fight Jake Paul?

As it stands, McGregor has two fights left on his UFC contract so the only way he’s going to be freed up to fight a Paul brother — or anyone else outside of the Octagon — is if Dana White gives it his stamp of approval.

Considering White has been in a long-running feud with ‘El Gallo’ for the past few years, it’s highly unlikely that the UFC CEO would let his golden goose run loose.

“First of all, I would never do business with those guys, just no, it’s not what I do,” White told ESPN three years ago when talking about the Paul brothers. “I’m not gonna f*cking loan them a guy, for f*cking what? There’s no way. You’ve got plenty of f*cking goofballs out there that you can muster up to get in there and play these games that these guys are playing. I’m not your guy.”
