Conor McGregor Vs. Floyd Mayweather 2? Floyd’s Father Thinks It’s Coming

Floyd Sr. Confirmed Talks Of A Potential Second Fight Between Mcgregor And Mayweather

Last week on August 26th, it marked the first anniversary of an epic spectacle when Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor met inside a boxing ring. The pair’s much-maligned showdown finished the way many expected, with Floyd won via a tenth-round TKO and remain undefeated. It was perhaps the most anticipated fight in combat sports history, where Irishman reportedly made hefty $100 million, while Mayweather banked even more massive payday to the tune of $300 million.

Mcgregor and Mayweather, on and off exchanged verbal barbs on their social media, just as they started a couple of years back out of nowhere, then look what happened.

Even earlier this week Mayweather spoke to TMZ and offered his gym to Conor Mcgregor to prepare his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. It didn’t take long for Mcgregor to get wind of the Mayweather’s offer, which he rebuffed in typical fashion.

After their recent trash talk on social media, many started throwing their questions if that leads to discussions of a rematch between the two stars.

”It’s sounding like him and Conor McGregor are going to fight,” he said in an interview with Helen Yee. “That’s what it sounds like. I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. It sounds like [Floyd’s] going to fight again, and Conor McGregor, he wants to fight again. Even though he don’t want to fight again, but he’ll fight again just to show his people what he can do – which is nothing.”

As Mayweather won their first meeting via tenth round TKO, Floyd Sr. believes ‘Money’ would go on to win the rematch even more convincingly and that will end Mcgregor’s aspiration to pursue boxing again.

”This time here, I’m gonna make sure that he gets stretched out,” Floyd Sr. said. “All the way out of the game. I want to make sure he don’t come back no more.”

In early 2018, there were rumors of this rematch would happen under UFC banner. But Mayweather Sr doesn’t anticipate his son taking such a risk and believes he’ll only rematch McGregor under the boxing rules.

”I’m just saying, I think they’re gonna fight the same way,” he said. “I think Conor McGregor wants that win back that he had, which is never coming back to him anyways. It’s being talked about and it sounds like a lot of interest is in it right now.”

Despite being finished on his feet by Floyd Mayweather last August, shortly after McGregor said, he’s confident he can get the best of “Money.” in a rematch. The possibility of materializing the rematch anytime soon is slim as Mcgregor is returning to Octagon to challenge Khabib for lightweight title on October 6 at UFC 229.

Hey, maniac share your thoughts, would you want to this rematch?
