Conor McGregor went on yet another Twitter tirade while apparently live-tweeting a rewatch of his UFC 229 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The fight happened more than three years ago.

The former two-division UFC champion took a stroll down memory, watching and commenting on some of the more interesting bouts he has taken part in. Eventually, McGregor got to UFC 229 where he took offense to Joe Rogan‘s commentary.

“That was an illegal knee on the head of a grounded opponent,” McGregor tweeted. “Shut up, Joe. You little fool, you. What are you talking about? Smash this and smash that? What was smashed was my knee into his f*cking eye socket, yeah? Sh*t. ‘That’s a knee to a grounded opponent. Call the cops. F*cking tick, you.”

From there, the Irishman took another dig at his lightweight rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, tweeting an image of himself with ‘The Eagle’ in the Octagon following their October 2019 showdown.

“The lion king chills,” McGregor tweeted. “Unscathed. They’ll do nothin. Wait an I get up Im gonna and batter the whole family. On top of the cage, the lot. That’s a fuckin lion chillin right there. and a rat knawing.”

While Conor McGregor claims he is “unscathed” in the photo, it was taken just moments after ‘The Notorious’ notoriously tapped out due to a fourth-round rear-naked.

McGregor has not competed inside the Octagon since a July 2021 bout with Dustin Poirier. The Irish superstar broke his leg near the end of the first round, losing via TKO as a result. It was his third loss in his last four outings inside the Octagon. During his time away from competition, McGregor has been putting in work at the gym, getting noticeably bigger in the process. That plus the revelation that he was no longer in the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) testing pool has many questioning how exactly McGregor came to get so big so fast.

Taking that into consideration, the earliest we would likely see Conor McGregor back in the Octagon would be the summer of 2023. However, there are some who believe ‘The Notorious’ will never step foot inside the cage again.
