Conor McGregor took the opportunity to raise the current issues Ireland is facing during his visit to the White House for a meeting with Donald Trump.
Conor talks politics at the White House
As the White House’s official guest for Saint Patrick’s Day, “Notorious” showed up in front of the media to address a few important things about Ireland. A serious and firm McGregor boldly expressed his desire for the U.S. to finally learn about the issues that are going on in his country, particularly the “illegal immigration racket” and the lack of actions taken by the Irish government.
“Ireland and America, we are siblings. We consider America our big sibling. So it’s important for Ireland to be a peaceful, prosperous country for 40 million Irish Americans to have a place to visit, [to] come back to their home,” McGregor said. “So, we wish for our relationship with the United States to continue, and we wish to be taken care of by the big bro. The United States should look after its little bro. And that’s how we feel,”
“I’m here to raise the issues the people of Ireland face,” he declared. “You know, it’ll be music to the people of Ireland’s ears. Because, never on the main stage, have the issues the people of Ireland face been spoken. Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it’s high time that America is made aware of what is going on in Ireland. What is going on in Ireland is a travesty,” he said. “Our government is the government of zero action with zero accountability.”
“Our money is being spent on overseas issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people. The illegal immigration racket is running ravage on the country. There are rural towns in Ireland that have been overrun in one swoop, that have become a minority in one swoop,” he ranted. “So, issues need to be addressed, and the 40 million Irish-Americans need to hear this, because if not, there will be no place to come home and visit.”

Trump praised Conor during his meeting with Ireland’s PM
It’s no denying that Trump admires UFC fighters and the promotion itself. In fact, during his meeting with Ireland’s Prime Minister Micheál Martin last week, the POTUS revealed his admiration for Irish MMA fighters, specifically McGregor.
On Monday afternoon, Conor McGregor and Donald Trump posed for a photo together in the Oval Office.

Conor McGregor, a huge name in fighting, often grabs attention even when he’s not in the ring. Last November, a court in Dublin said he was responsible for a sexual assault from December 2018 and told him to pay around $258,440 to Nikita Hand, the woman involved. McGregor and his crew want to fight that decision with an appeal. Plus, he’s tangled up in another lawsuit about a supposed sexual assault at a Miami Heat game in June 2023, and that’s still going on.
