Conor McGregor is taking a major step in preparing for his return to the octagon by opening a new home-based training center and pledging to train there full time. The Irish star, who last competed at UFC 264 in 2021, is focusing on regaining top form following injuries that delayed his comeback.

The facility, located just outside Dublin, is now part of the Straight Blast Gym network and has been branded SBG McGregor’s. It features the gym’s iconic gorilla logo, which McGregor also has tattooed on his chest. The gym will serve as McGregor’s primary training base under longtime coach John Kavanagh, who has guided him throughout most of his MMA career.

“Operation: Live in the gym,” McGregor posted on social media alongside images of the new facility.

McGregor’s previous fights were marred by injuries, including a broken leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 and a broken toe that forced him out of a planned bout with Michael Chandler at UFC 303. A period of inactivity followed, prompting questions about his ability to return to peak performance.

Recently, McGregor underwent a psychedelic therapy to address personal challenges and refocus on his career. He has shared footage of himself training intensely with teammates at SBG Ireland, demonstrating a renewed commitment to his comeback. He is targeting a return at the UFC White House event in June.

John Kavanagh Supports Full-Time Training Plan

John Kavanagh, SBG Ireland head coach, confirmed his full involvement in McGregor’s preparation. During an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s show, Kavanagh said, “On our end, we are 100 per cent in,” emphasizing that McGregor’s training will be closely supervised and structured.

The new gym will also serve as a hub for other fighters, combining McGregor’s high-level expertise with SBG Ireland’s coaching system. The facility is equipped to support elite mixed martial artists with comprehensive training programs.

By dedicating himself entirely to training at SBG McGregor’s, Conor McGregor is signaling that his focus is fully on regaining top form and making a statement in his return to the UFC. Fans will be watching closely to see if this commitment translates into a successful performance at the UFC White House event.
