Conor McGregor wasted no time at all getting people to talk about him again. After getting pulled from UFC 200, McGregor broke the internet when he posted a “screw you” faux, retirement tweet that got more hits that Kobe Bryant’s. After that, McGregor pretty much disappeared to mine impressions as he hit mits. He’s been pretty much in exile until recently, unless you count creating his own media “empire” to cover, well, himself at his own gym. That was until Nate Diaz started appearing on morning shows and they were booked on a conference call together. It seems like McGregor wanted the limelight back and he sure got that.
On the call, he was prompted if he’d ever wrestle for the WWE and he went on a rant about how they are all “pussies” and took a stab at “juiced out his fucking eyeballs” Brock Lesnar. Needless to say, the wrestlers on the WWE roster didn’t take kindly to it but that just prompted McGregor to throw gasoline on the fire. …Damn near the entire WWE roster jumped him on social media like the Royal Rumble.
@TheNotoriousMMA @WWE very funny little guy. Why don't you get your head out of Dana White's ass

So much talk for a guy who fights 15 min matches twice a year…… Good for you Conor McGaiver.

Not just @wwe locker room, but ANY Pro Wrestling locker room has at least 2-3 men that would hospitalize u. #Fact https://t.co/ZIQ9GbukBo

…And then the king himself in style and profile! WOO!
Coming from a guy who built a career copying my persona, I expected the type of class we get from Ronda or Anderson. pic.twitter.com/iVoC0Xva5g

This little, entertaining stunt got McGregor’s name tweeted out to 7.89 million followers combined from the WWE superstars above but may get him jumped outside the arena. McGregor may have worked us all, just like he did with all the Floyd Mayweather co-promotion for a fight we all knew would never happen. Is the WWE in on the joke? Is this a continuation of UFC 200 tit-for-tat or maybe picking up where an old rumor left off?
It remains unclear, but what is certain is that McGregor is a social media wizard and he still keeps an eye on some interesting people.
