Conor wants to be free?

To this moment, the UFC has yet to book McGregor for a showdown despite the former UFC two-division champion being positive about his return this year. As expected, this raised concerns about whether McGregor is on good terms with the UFC or “Notorious” is trying to part ways with the promotion.

Dana said not this year

UFC president Dana White has already addressed McGregor’s return in one of his previous media pressers. According to the UFC boss, he had a conversation with “Notorious” about his situation but fans should not hold their breath as the polarizing UFC star is unlikely to return this year.

Prior to this, McGregor was optimistic about picking up where he and Michael Chandler left off, possibly continuing with the fight in the final quarter of the year. However, “Iron” doesn’t echo the same sentiment and appears to be ready to move on from McGregor.

McGregor has not fought professionally since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in 2021. As it stands, the 36-year-old has not stepped inside the Octagon for already more than three years.
