Maybe Conor McGregor Teases Retirement Again: “I’d Tell You I’m Done But You Wouldn’t Believe Me”

The former UFC two-division champion and the richest MMA fighter Conor McGregor posted another cryptic tweet, informing his Twitter followers that “he’s done”.

I’d tell you I’m done but you wouldn’t believe me.

Wait! Stop! Done with what? Is he hinting retirement? Now let’s look carefully at the second part of his statement.

No one will believe him because the Irish southpaw striker called a quit to his career two times in the past. Conor “hung up his gloves” for the first time in 2016, when he decided to “retire young” and “thanked for the cheese” after UFC pulled him off the UFC 200 card due to his unwillingness to go on promotional events.

Conor McGregor tweeted his retirement again in March 2019, while he was still under disciplinary suspension for the UFC 229 post-fight incident.

Conor was in works to meet Donald Cerrone, but the talks of that bout stalled as UFC wanted this match to co-headline the event. UFC later booked Cerrone vs Iaquinta, which was held in the main event of UFC Fight Night 151. But Dana White worked everything out, and UFC cash cow changed his mind later.

Interestingly, the message was posted before UFC 242, which is set for this September in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Lightweight title match between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier headlines the event. And it seems the UFC president holds a spot for the Irishman at the front of the championship line, as he said Conor’s destiny would be decided after September 7th and hinted possible Khabib rematch.

It is very hard to decrypt Conor’s tweet. What’s he trying to say? Please share your thoughts.
