Conor Mcgregor Believes He’d Win The Rematch With Floyd Mayweather

Former two division champion Conor Mcgregor made his highly anticipated boxing debut two years ago against legendary Floyd Mayweather. Early in the match, Mcgregor was excelling despite that he ended up losing the bout via tenth round stoppage.

In a recent interview with Tony Robbins, Mcgregor said he wants another crack at Mayweather and is extremely confident that he’d win the redo if they ever boxed again. (h/t

“I would like to rematch him under boxing rules, again,” McGregor said to Tony Robbins during a recent interview … “and I believe I would win.”

“Actually, there I go again with that fake humbleness … I KNOW I WOULD WIN!”

Conor Mcgregor said it’s not like he was getting all the beating in their first outing, but believes he was dominating Mayweather in early rounds.

“When I went into the fight in the early rounds I was WHOOPING him in the early rounds,” Conor said … “I went back to my corner after the 1st round and I said, ‘This is easy!'”

According to the scorecard, Mcgregor won the first round, and judge Dave Moretti gave first three rounds to Conor. But moving on from fourth-round Mayweather got the best of Mcgregor.

Mcgregor also revealed that during the fight, Mayweather switched his fight stance from ‘Bare-footed’ to more aggressive ‘Mexican style.’ It showed the intellectual side of Mayweather, but Mcgregor said he could prepare himself for that kind of alternative fight style and believes would annihilate ‘Money’ in the second match.

“He never fought like that in his entire career, but he was forced to fight that way because he was getting beaten,” Conor said.

“The approach caught me off guard. I was not prepared for it, I was not used to it … and he walked me down and end up getting the stoppage.”

Mayweather since then said he is retired, but in Sept. 2018 he told his fans that he’d end his layoff for a possible rematch with Manny Pacquiao. However, those plans never came to fruition.

Mayweather recently took part in an exhibition bout and beat the hell out of Tenshin Nasukawa.
