Conor McGregor And Floyd Mayweather In Progress For Lucrative Rematch

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are reportedly in talks over a sensational MMA rematch.

Two stars met in August when Conor McGregor was stopped in the 10th round of their highly anticipated Las Vegas boxing match, both banked hefty amount.

Speculation has continued over a rematch in the ring, with the Mcgregor keen to avenge his defeat.

Boxing journalist Gareth A Davies told TalkSport’s Jim White his sources say the negotiations are taking place, however White has reported the pair are discussing a potential rematch in the octagon and believes the fight will happen.

“My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather.

“There are a lot of talks about him potentially having an MMA fight with Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor had no chance in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. People will tune in to see Mayweather get stopped by Conor McGregor, and it won’t affect his boxing record.”

As reported this fight which could be worth up to half a billion dollars, a total of $500 million is on the line as it’s expected to make big money.

Floyd Mayweather has repeatedly hinted he could be ready to make his debut in the octagon and posted a video of himself entering into an MMA cage last month. It is unclear where or when any possible fight could happen.

Joe Rogan, a veteran commentator on MMA, also claimed that Mayweather has been in negotiations with UFC president Dana White over a potential “billion dollars” deal.

If this mega fight booked, then there’s a good chance that this fight would break MMA’s PPV records.

“I think it’s going to happen, and I think it will be a three-, four-, five-hundred million dollar fight again.”

Conor McGregor, a UFC lightweight champ has also hinted that he wants to return to the octagon, with his last MMA fight coming against Eddie Alvarez in November 2016, when he won the Lightweight belt.

After winning the last boxing match against UFC star, Floyd Mayweather stated that this would serve as his retirement fight, which would leave him with a perfect 50-0 pro-boxing record.

Are you excited to see this mega-fight between two superstars?
