Conor McGregor: Floyd Mayweather Should ‘Come Into His Game’ And Discusses MMA Return

Floyd Mayweather, a legendary pugilist, has been causing waves on social media lately, sharing footage of himself entering into an MMA cage. While UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor believes the undefeated boxer must make that move.

Conor McGregor discussed the possibility of an MMA bout with Floyd Mayweather shortly after a charity gala he attended in New York City on Wednesday night.

“I’d do as I’d please against him inside the Octagon,” McGregor said, speaking with Adam Glyn (h/t The Mac Life). “If he does do it — I know he’s flirting with it — I’d have respect for him. I think it would get his earned respect then if he was to step in. He’s engaging, we’re engaging, so we’ll see. I’m currently in negotiations to face my next opponent and we have many options there’s the current interim lightweight champion, there’s an undefeated Dagestani, maybe a big Russian event. There’s the Diaz trilogy. Obviously, the Mayweather fight is there. There’s many options, so … we’re just at the table.”

“If it is [for publicity], it will follow him for the rest of his days,” McGregor added later. “If it is, it will follow him for the rest of his days that he did not do it. I said I would do it, and I stepped up and I done it. His time now. His go now.”

Both men fought back in August of 2016, in a highly anticipated lucrative boxing match, where Mayweather won via tenth round stoppage over Mcgregor. They both banked hefty payday.

Conor McGregor would undoubtedly have a massive advantage over Mayweather, who despite being 50-0 as a professional boxer has never competed in MMA cage.

Moreover, Mcgregor hasn’t fought since defeating Eddie Alvarez back in 2016 at UFC 205 and scores a lightweight title. Notorious hinted he might return to UFC Octagon this year still there is no news on it yet.
